OGDEN, Utah-Monday, Weber State senior linebacker Winston Reid was named as the FedEx Ground FCS National Defensive Player of the Week for his contributions to the Wildcats’ upset of No. 4 Idaho 31-29 Saturday.
On Senior Day for Reid, and his Wildcats teammates in their victory against the Vandals, he posted a career-high 17 tackles (7 solo stops and 10 assists).
The former Copper Hills High School star added 1.5 tackles for a loss, a forced fumble, two quarterback hurries and a pass breakup.
Reid and his Wildcats teammates conclude their season Saturday at San Luis Obispo, Calif. against the Cal Poly Mustangs.
