(Washington, D.C.) — One of Utah’s U.S. Senators voted against President Donald Trump’s so-called anti-weaponization fund. Senator John Curtis broke with his fellow Republicans to vote for a proposal that would dismantle that fund from the Justice Department. The fund is nearly 1.8 billion dollars and Trump has promised to use it to pay his supporters who he feels were unfairly prosecuted. That includes people who were convicted for attacking police officers on January 6th. Curtis was one of a handful of Republican senators to vote no. However, that particular vote was not successful.
