PROVO, Utah-Mason Ford led the way with 13 points and the No. 4 Timpview Thunderbirds bested Wasatch 54-43 Wednesday in the second round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs. Jacob Balch led the Wasps in defeat with a game-high 17 points. Timpview next faces No. 5 Orem Saturday at 9:30 am in the state quarterfinals at the Huntsman Center.

OREM, Utah-Jack Allen posted 22 points and the No. 5 Orem Tigers dismantled No. 12 West Jordan 63-44 Wednesday in the second round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs. Carter Dorenbosch led the Jaguars with 12 points in defeat.

SANDY, Utah-Carter Doleac netted 16 points and the No. 1 Alta Hawks pounded No. 17 Roy 82-48 in the second round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs Wednesday. Corber Schuffenhauer led the Royals with 12 points in the loss. Alta next faces No. 8 Brighton Saturday at 11:10 am at the Huntsman Center in the state quarterfinals.

COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah-Bradley Easton netted 25 points and the No. 8 Brighton Bengals smacked No. 9 Juan Diego 70-53 Wednesday in the second round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs. Luke Meyer’s 21 points led the Soaring Eagle in defeat.

HOLLADAY, Utah-Dutch DowDell posted 32 points and the No. 2 Olympus Titans decimated No. 18 Salem Hills 96-49 in the second round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs Wednesday. Chase DeGraffenried’s 17 points led the Skyahwks in the loss. Olympus next faces No. 10 Skyline Saturday at 12:50 pm in the state quarterfinals at the Huntsman Center.

SALT LAKE CITY-George McConkie stepped up with 16 points and the No. 3 Highland Rams stonewalled No. 19 Viewmont 67-50 Wednesday in the second round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs. Drez Jensen led the Vikings with 15 points in the loss. Highland next faces No. 6 Bountiful in the state quarterfinals at the Huntsman Center Saturday at 2:30 pm.

BOUNTIFUL, Utah-Carson Smith recorded 22 points and 8 rebounds and the No. 6 Bountiful Redhawks pounded No. 11 Cedar Valley 76-53 in the second round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs Wednesday. Heath Christensen led the Aviators in defeat with 20 points.
