HEBER CITY, Utah-JJ Serre hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer and the Wasatch Wasps edged Maple Mountain 61-59 Tuesday at The Nest in Region 7 boys basketball play. Serre’s game-high 18 points led Wasatch in victory. Easton Merrell had 18 points in the loss for the Golden Eagles. The Wasps improved to 8-8 and 3-4 in Region 7 play. The Wasps return to action Friday at Springville as the Region 7 season continues. HEBER CITY, Utah-Ashley Garner and Peyton Benkhe posted 20 points apiece and the Wasatch Wasps smacked Maple Mountain 69-51 in Region 7 girls basketball play Tuesday at The Nest. Jaynee Tanner’s 16 points and 10 rebounds led the Golden Eagles in the loss. The Wasps improved to 14-3 and 5-1 in Region 7 play with the win.
