OREM, Utah-Monday, Utah Valley men’s basketball head coach Todd Phillips announced the addition of Zerrion Payton to the staff as the graduate assistant.

Payton is a native of Oakland, Calif. and coached two McDonald’s All-Americans during his time at AZ Compass and Prolific Prep High School who also spent time as the head coach of the Adidas 3ssb Circuit.

Payton previously starred at Westminster of Salt Lake City and Salt Lake Community College.

Payton is the nephew of NBA Hall of Fame guard Gary Payton and the cousin of current Golden State Warriors guard Gary Payton Jr.
