ST. GEORGE, Utah-Monday, Utah Tech Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Ken Beazer announced the firing of Trailblazers head football coach Paul Peterson.
Utah Tech’s season ended last Saturday evening with a 24-16 defeat to Southern Utah.
Peterson went 2-9 as the Trailblazers’ head coach this season and 17-32 overall, including a 9-29 record during the program’s transition to NCAA Division I FCS from NCAA Division II.
A national search for the program’s new head coach will begin immediately. Utah Tech athletic officials will not provide any further comment until the completion of the search.
