5A State Championship @ Rice-Eccles Stadium
SALT LAKE CITY-Helaman Casuga threw a pair of touchdown passes and the No. 1 Timpview Thunderbirds won the Class 5A state football title with a 23-16 win over No. 10 Bountiful at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
Freddie Fekitoa had a touchdown run Faletau Satuala hauled in a touchdown pass in the loss for the Redhawks.
The Thunderbirds have now won 12 state titles in football and their first at the 5A level.
