Jakob Robinson Named Jim Thorpe Award National Defensive Back of the Week

OKLAHOMA CITY-Thursday, BYU junior defensive back Jakob Robinson was named as the recipient of the Jim Thorpe Award National Defensive Back of the Week for his attainments in the Cougars’ win over Cincinnati September 29.

Robinson, a former Orem High School star, recorded a pick six, six tackles and a pass breakup in the victory over the Bearcats, BYU’s first such win as a member of the Big 12 Conference.

Robinson has three interceptions and two defensed passes on the season for the Cougars.

Robinson and his BYU teammates return to action October 14 by visiting Texas Christian as the Cougars’ Big 12 season ensues.
