Sunday, a pair of significant events occurred in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Following 34 years as an announcer and writer for Music & The Spoken Word, Bro. Lloyd D. Newell announced he and his wife, Karmel, have received a call to lead a mission for the Church.
Bro. Newell and Karmel’s service will begin in July 2024 in their new calling.
Sunday’s broadcast was the 4,617th consecutive weekly broadcast since July 15, 1929
Sunday, the St. George Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was rededicated.
The temple was rededicated by St. George native, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles of the Church.
This temple was closed for renovation in November 2019, which was the second renovation for this temple which was originally dedicated in 1877.
