Zach Larson Named As Weber State Football Assistant Coach

OGDEN, Utah-Wednesday afternoon, Weber State football announced the hiring of Zach Larson as a new assistant coach.

Larson is the first hiring to the staff under new head coach Mickey Mental.

Larson will serve as the Wildcats’ quarterbacks coach.

Larson, a former Timpanogos High School, Snow College and Utah State quarterback, began his coaching career at Utah State in 2018. While with the Aggies, he served as a student assistant coach.

At Utah State, Larson served under then-Aggies offensive coordinator David Yost and receivers coach Jovon Bouknight. Larson’s contributions helped the Aggies average 47.5 points per game that season as the program ranked second nationally in that category.

Larson first came to the Weber State program in 2020, serving as a volunteer assistant coach with the offense.

In 2021, he advanced on the staff to the post of graduate assistant coach. In that role, he primarily worked with the Wildcats’ quarterbacks.

Larson’s father, Ed, is currently the head coach at Lehi High School. Ed Larson is the winningest coach in the program’s history.
