Weber State Men’s Basketball Selected Fourth In Both Media and Coaches Big Sky Polls

FARMINGTON, Utah-Wednesday, Weber State men’s basketball was selected fourth in the Big Sky Conference preseason media and coaches polls.

The Wildcats are now coached by first-year head coach Eric Duft and return five players from last season’s 21-12 squad that advanced to the semifinals of last season’s Big Sky Tournament.

Montana State is the favorite in both polls. The standings for media and coaches polls are as follows:

Key returners for the Wildcats include junior forward Dillon Jones (12.6 points and 10.6 rebounds per game last season) and senior forward Zahir Porter (5.7 points and 1.5 rebounds per game last season).

Weber State also has several key additions. Among them are senior forward Junior Ballard who comes from Fresno State and former Tennessee center Handje Tamba.

The Wildcats commence the season November 7 by visiting the Washington Huskies at Seattle.
