5A Semifinals

HERRIMAN, Utah-Canon Downey found the net and the No. 1 Wasatch Wasps edged No. 12 Skyline 1-0 Monday in the 5A state boys soccer semifinals at Zions Bank Stadium. The Wasps next play for the 5A state championship Thursday at 2:00 pm at America First Field against the Alta Hawks.

HERRIMAN, Utah-Brock Bennion scored and the No. 3 Alta Hawks ended No. 15 Olympus’ Cinderella run with a 1-0 victory over the Titans Monday in the 5A state semifinals at Zions Bank Stadium.

5A Bracket Play @ Miller Park

PROVO, Utah-The No. 17 Woods Cross Wildcats continued their Cinderella story with a 1-0 win over No. 8 Brighton Monday in 5A state baseball bracket play at Miller Park. Harley Vicchrilli posted seven strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Wildcats. Woods Cross next faces No. 4 Lehi Tuesday at 7:00 pm at Miller Park in the winner’s bracket. The Bengals next face No. 5 Viewmont in the elimination bracket Tuesday at 1:30 pm at Miller Park.

PROVO, Utah-Mays Madsen and Jackson Brousseau each drove in three runs and the No. 4 Lehi Pioneers, the defending state champions, routed No. 5 Viewmont 13-3 in 5A state baseball bracket play at Miller Park Monday. Dawson Rodak posted four strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Pioneers. Max Lee and Braxton Brenenstall each drove in a run for Viewmont in defeat.

PROVO, Utah-Tanner Morgan drove in four runs and the No. 2 Timpanogos Timberwolves pummeled No. 7 Orem 13-4 in 5A state baseball  bracket play Monday at Miller Park. The Timberwolves next play in the winner’s bracket Tuesday at 4:30 pm against No. 3 Salem Hills.

PROVO, Utah-Kason Averett, Chase DeGraffenried and Nolan Miller each drove in a run and the No. 3 Salem Hills Skyhawks doubled up No. 6 Jordan 4-2 Monday at Miller Park to conclude the first day of 5A bracket play. Miller posted eight strikeouts in seven innings of work in victory for the Skyhawks. Boston Williams drove in a run for the Beetdiggers in the loss.
