PROVO, Utah-Thursday, the Wasatch Wasps boys and girls track and field teams competed against the best in 5A at the first day of the UHSAA state track and field championships at Robison Track on the campus of Brigham Young University.
The first day of competition saw all the 5A and 6A schools in the Beehive State compete.

Additionally, Zach Spruill of Wasatch has qualified for Saturday’s final in the boys 110 hurdles as the No. 8 seed. Madi Durrant of Wasatch is in Saturday’s final in the girls 100 as the No. 2 seed. Durrant is also the No. 3 seed in the girls 400 for Saturday’s final in that event. Durrant will also be the No. 3 seed in the girls 200 for Saturday’s final in that event. Noah Wright of Wasatch placed first in the Unified 5A boys shot put (36-07.25).
