Wasatch Track and Field Completes Snow Canyon Invitational Participation Saturday

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Saturday, Wasatch High School’s boys and girls track and field squads competed at Day 2 of the Snow Canyon Invitational, completing their participation until further notice based on rulings from the Utah High School Activities Association and Governor Gary Herbert.

The Wasatch girls placed 12th overall with 30 points and the boys finished 14th with 21 points.

In the girls’ 3200-meter run, Abbie Randall (12:07.77) placed 18th and Allison Munck finished 24th (12:24.59). Emma Page (12:43.41) placed 41st overall.

In the boys’ 3200-meter run, Jake Giles (10:47.03) finished 44th with Michael Pavicic (13:00.59) placing 65th.

Annie Hill placed 2nd in the girls’ 100-meter hurdles (15.61). The boys’ 4 x 100 relay team finished 9th (46.77). In this event, the Wasps were represented by Peter Meuzelaar, Jake Gillman, Tyler Anderson and Connely Hill.

In the girls’ 400-meter dash, Sydney Price (1:02.91) placed sixth.

The boys’ 400-meter dash saw Mack Hinckley (51.84) finish sixth overall.

In the girls’ 300-meter hurdles, Hill once again excelled, placing fifth overall (49.57).

In the girls’ 4 x 200 meter relay, Wasatch placed fourth (1:53.10). In this event, the Wasps were represented by Karissa Bingham, Lexi Vernsey, Sydney Price and Lucy Clawson.

The boys’ 4 x 200 meter relay saw the Wasps place seventh (1:38.93). In this event, Wasatch was represented by Seth Saxton, Peter Meuzelaar, Robbie Shallenburger and Samuel Lemon.

In the girls’ 800-meter run, Allison Munck (2:33.66) placed 24th. Anna Baird (2:34.02) finished 27th with Lillie Randall (2:42.33) placing 47th.

Emma Page (2:43.30) finished 50th and Madelyn King (2:44.99) placed 54th. Grace Neal (2:47.03) finished 58th.

In the boys’ 800-meter run, Bentley Ackerson (2:03.55) finished 12th. Carson Guymon (2:10.75) placed 29th and Brayden Guymon (2:12.64) finished 37th.

Connely Hill (23.11) placed 8th in the boys’ 200-meter dash.

Wasatch’s girls placed third in the 4 x 400 relay (4:15.52). In this event, the Wasps were represented by Sydney Price, Makayla Bastos, Madi Durrant and Sydney Hales.

The boys’ 4 x 400 relay squad placed fifth (3:38.37). In this event, Wasatch was represented by Bentley Ackerson, Carson Guymon, Brayden Guymon and Mack Hinckley.

Jay Nelson finished fourth (42-08.50) in the boys’ shot put. Nelson also placed eighth in the boys’ discus (113-03).

In conclusion, Lexi Vernsey (4-10) placed eighth in the girls’ high jump.

This concludes Wasatch’s track and field season until further notice.
