Baseball

5A Bracket 1

PROVO, Utah-Siona Faeamani, Logan Skidmore and Teagan Burnside came up with key successive RBI in the top of the 7th Inning to propel the No. 5 Viewmont Vikings to a 9-5 win over No. 4 Lehi Wednesday in Bracket 1 play at Miller Park. The Vikings’ 6-run burst in the 9th Inning kept their season alive as Viewmont has forced the Pioneers to play a second game in this bracket Thursday at 7:00 pm at Miller Park.

5A Bracket 2

PROVO, Utah-Garrett Holt drove in a pair of runs and the No. 3 Salem Hills Skyhawks downed No. 2 Timpanogos 6-4 Wednesday in Bracket 2 play Wednesday at Miller Park. Corbin Gull earned the win on the mound for Salem Hills. Collin Morgan, Jackson Sotelo and Landon Young each drove in a run in the loss for the Timberwolves. The Skyhawks have forced another game against the Timberwolves Thursday at 4:00 pm in Bracket 2 at Miller Park.

5A Elimination Bracket @ Miller Park

PROVO, Utah-Garrett Holt drove in a pair of runs and the No. 3 Salem Hills Skyhawks doubled up No. 6 Jordan 8-4 Wednesday, ending the Beetdiggers’ season at Miller Park in the 5A elimination bracket. The Skyhawks next face No. 2 Timpanogos Wednesday at 4:30 pm. Kam Coburn posted two strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Skyhawks.

PROVO, Utah-Teagan Burnside, Luke Jacobs, Braxton Brenenstall and Gehrig Lee each drove in a run and the No. 5 Viewmont Vikings downed the No. 17 Woods Cross Wildcats 6-2 in the 5A elimination bracket Wednesday at Miller Park. Brenenstall posted five strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Vikings. Alex Holdstock and Max Moffat each drove in a run for the Wildcats in the loss. Viewmont next faces No. 4 Lehi Wednesday at 7:00 pm.

Boys Lacrosse

5A State Semifinals

SALT LAKE CITY-The No. 1 Olympus Titans drilled No. 4 Northridge 19-4 in the 5A state boys lacrosse semifinals at Dumke Field of Westminster College Wednesday. The Titans next play for the 5A state championship game Friday at 8:00 pm at Zions Bank Stadium of Herriman against No. 3 Park City.

SALT LAKE CITY-The No. 3 Park City Miners edged No. 2 Brighton 10-8 Wednesday in the 5A state boys lacrosse semifinals at Dumke Field.

Softball

5A Bracket 1

MILLCREEK, Utah-The No. 1 Spanish Fork Dons pounded No. 15 Bonneville 12-1 Wednesday in 5A bracket 1 play at the Cottonwood Softball Complex. The Dons next advance to the 5A State Finals Thursday at 7:00 pm at Gail Miller Park on the campus of Brigham Young University to face No. 2 Bountiful.

MILLCREEK, Utah-The No. 2 Bountiful RedHawks downed No. 10 Salem Hills 5-3 at the Cottonwood Softball Complex Wednesday in 5A Bracket 2 play.

5A Winners Bracket @ Cottonwood Softball Complex

MILLCREEK, Utah-The No. 1 Spanish Fork Dons bested No. 8 Tooele 5-2 Wednesday morning in the 5A winners bracket at the Cottonwood Softball Complex.

MILLCREEK, Utah-Eva Stoddard and Malissa Turpin each drove in a run and the No. 2 Bountiful RedHawks bested No. 4 Springville Wednesday morning in the 5A winners bracket at the Cottonwood Softball Complex. Stoddard’s eight strikeouts in nine innings of work earned her the win in the circle for Bountiful.

5A Bracket Play @ Cottonwood Softball Complex

MILLCREEK, Utah-Sadie Baker drove in the sole run of the game and the No. 8 Tooele Buffaloes downed  No. 5 Olympus 1-0 early Wednesday morning in the resumption of a game suspended by weather from Tuesday. Aubrie Hansen posted 18 strikeouts in 7 innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Buffaloes.

MILLCREEK, Utah-Athena Tongaonevai and Jaci Alvey each homered and the No. 2 Bountiful RedHawks downed No. 11 Stansbury 3-2 Wednesday morning in 5A bracket play at the Cottonwood Softball Complex.

Elimination Bracket @ Cottonwood Softball Complex

MILLCREEK, Utah-The No. 15 Bonneville Lakers routed No. 5 Olympus 15-4 Wednesday morning in the 5A softball elimination bracket at Cottonwood Softball Complex.

MILLCREEK, Utah-The No. 10 Salem Hills Skyhawks ended No. 11 Stansbury’s season with a 10-4 win over the Stallions Wednesday morning in the 5A softball elimination bracket at Cottonwood Softball Complex. The Skyhawks next face No. 2 Bountiful in the elimination bracket later Wednesday.
