PAYSON, Utah-Samuel Mitchell led the way with 23 points, knocking down 5 3-pointers, as the Payson Lions pounded Wasatch 77-55 in Region 8 boys basketball action Tuesday. Hawk Ballstaedt had 16 points in the loss for the Wasps, who fell to 9-13 and 6-7 in Region 8 play. The Wasps celebrate Senior Night Friday at The Nest by hosting Salem Hills. PAYSON, Utah-Chiara Serre had 15 points and six steals as the Wasatch Wasps smacked Payson 41-28 to celebrate a successful Senior Night at The Nest Tuesday in Region 8 girls basketball action. Melissa McCauley had 10 points for the Lions in defeat. The Wasps improved to 9-10 and 7-6 in Region 8 play. The Wasps conclude the regular season by visiting Salem Hills Friday.
