Tuesday, the Wasatch Wasps had a strong presence on the Deseret News 5A all-state football teams. Timpview sophomore quarterback Helaman Casuga was named the 5A player of the year.
In leading the Thunderbirds to the state title, Casuga tossed for 4,145 yards and 34 scores. The Wasps on the various all-state 5A football teams are as follows:
1st Team
junior receiver JoJo Hyer (1,133 receiving yards, 12 TD’s)
senior kicker Ashton Southam (33 PAT’s, six field goals)
senior punter Fisher Brown (7 punts inside the 20-yard line)
