HEBER CITY, Utah-Garrett Stauffer posted 3 RBI and Payton Swapp hit a solo homer while adding another RBI as the Wasatch Wasps pounded Lehi 8-3 Saturday at Wasatch High School in the first round of 5-A state baseball.

This is a best-of-3 series with the Wasps and Pioneers meeting Monday at 3:30 at Heber City again. If Lehi wins the 3;30 game, a second game will follow Monday.

Jackson Bolender posted three strikeouts in seven innings of work as Wasps coaches Tyler Moss and Tyler Baird trusted the strong-armed pitcher to go the distance, securing the victory.
