Region 8

HEBER CITY, Utah-Stone Cushing drove in two runs and took a perfect game into the 7th Inning on the mound as the Salem Hills Skyhawks downed Wasatch 7-4 Monday in Region 8 baseball play, concluding the season for both squads. Chett Wilson, Payton Swapp, Scott Mahoney and Jarinn Kalama each had 7th Inning RBI for the Wasps as their comeback attempt came up short.

Salem Hills concludes the regular season at 20-5 (12-2 in Region 8 play) as Region 8 champions. Wasatch finishes the regular season at 13-10 and 9-5 in Region 8 play, as they finished third in the region standings.

The Wasatch seniors were honored after the game for Senior Day. The Wasps’ seniors this year include pitcher/infielder Cole Cloward, catcher Jackson Collett, infielder Scott Mahoney, infielder Riley Davis, infielder Garrett Stauffer, pitcher/outfielder Cannon Bay, pitcher/outfielder Cesar Munoz and  pitcher/outfielder Kobe McPhie.

The 5-A baseball RPI and bracket will be revealed Thursday at 10:00 pm.
