DENVER-Friday, the Western Athletic Conference announced the conference’s board of directors for voting to allow transitioning members Utah Tech University and Tarleton State (Texas) to participate in all conference championships.

This commences with the 2022-23 season.

This announcement comes a month after the WAC submitted a formal letter of support to the NCAA on behalf of both the Trailblazers and Texans to be granted access to the conference’s championship tournaments.

The Trailblazers and Texans each completed the second season of their four-year transition to NCAA Division I status this past athletic season having both come from NCAA Division II.

Utah Tech director of athletics Ken Beazer called this “a banner day” for Trailblazers athletics.
