LOGAN, Utah-Per news released from the Utah State University athletic department Friday, redshirt freshman receiver Josh Davis has been upgraded from critical to fair condition at McKay-Dee Hospital of Ogden.
Thursday, Davis, a native of Carlsbad, Calif., suffered a non-traumatic sudden cardiac arrest during Thursday’s spring practice in Logan.
Davis is presently in the intensive care unit at McKay-Dee and has been taken off of life-sustaining medical devices and is breathing on his own.
After Davis collapsed Thursday, he was immediately treated by USU athletic training staff. The staff was led by Mike Williams, the university’s Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine.
Davis was first transported to Logan Regional Hospital before being transferred to McKay-Dee.
