SALT LAKE CITY-Jake McCarthy homered twice and the Reno Aces won the first game of a Monday doubleheader, 6-2 over the Salt Lake Bees at Smith’s Ballpark in Triple A-West play.
McCarthy had 3 RBI for the Aces on the night as he also added an RBI grounder force out in the 2nd Inning.
Humberto Castellanos earned the win on the mound for the Aces, improving to 5-1 on the season. Reno improved to 56-38 on the season.
Luis Rengifo homered in the loss for the Bees, who fell to 43-50 with the loss.
SALT LAKE CITY-Seth Beer and Andrew Young each posted RBI and the Reno Aces blanked Salt Lake 2-0 in Triple A-West play Monday at Smith’s Ballpark, completing a doubleheader sweep.
Matt Gage earned the win on the mound for the Aces, who improved to 57-38 with the win. Gage is now 2-1 on the season.
This was the first time the Bees, who fell to 43-51, were shut out on the season. The Bees and Aces conclude their series Tuesday at 6:35 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-Jakob Goldfarb and Mitchell Miller each homered as the Ogden Raptors routed the Grand Junction Rockies 10-4 Monday at Suplizio Field in Pioneer League play. Reza Aleaziz earned the win on the mound or the Raptors, who improved to 46-35 on the season. Luke Roskam and Josh Elvir each homered in defeat for the Rockies, who fell to 43-35 with the loss.
The Raptors take Tuesday off before hosting Missoula for a 6-game series Wednesday.
