SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, University of Utah football experienced a successful Tuesday as coaches and student-athletes alike received recognition.

Utes defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley was announced as a semifinalist for the Frank Broyles Award. This is annually bestowed upon college football’s top assistant coach.

Under Scalley, Utah ranks No. 21 nationally in scoring defense (20 points per game) and No. 22 in yards given up per game, or total defense (372.9 yards).

The Utes are also No. 10 nationally in 4th down defense.

Senior tight end Dalton Kincaid has been named as a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award, annually bestowed upon the top tight end in NCAA FBS college football.

Kincaid has 50 receptions for 649 yards and 7 touchdowns for the Utes on the season.

Junior quarterback Cameron Rising is one of 21 semifinalists nationally for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award.

Rising has completed 66 percent of his passes this season for 2,225 yards, 19 touchdowns and 4 interceptions for the Utes. Rising has also run for 335 yards and 6 more scores for 8-2 (6-1 in Pac-12 play) Utah.

The Utes are back in action Saturday at Oregon.
