ATLANTA-Tuesday, University of Utah head football coach Kyle Whittingham and BYU head football coach Kalani Sitake were named to the 2022 Dodd Trophy Preseason Watch List by the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year foundation and the Peach Bowl.
This award is named in honor of Bobby Dodd, the legendary former Georgia Tech head coach who coached the Yellow Jackets from 1945-1966, leading them to the 1952 national championship.
Whittingham is the all-time leader in wins at Utah, having posted a record of 144-70 (.673) in his 18 seasons at the helm.
Whittingham won the Dodd Trophy previously in 2019 and the American Football Coaches Association of the Year and the Bear Bryant Award in 2008.
Sitake was a candidate for the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award in 2020 and a semifinalist for the George Munger Collegiate Coach of the Year Award in 2020 and 2021.
Sitake is 48-29 (.623) in six seasons at BYU.
