Steve Klauke Announces 2023 Season Will Be His Last As Bees Broadcaster

SALT LAKE CITY-Per Friday news, longtime Salt Lake City area sports announcer Steve Klauke has announced the 2023 season will be his last as the voice of the Salt Lake Bees.

Klauke, who is also the radio voice of Weber State Wildcats football and men’s basketball, has been the voice of minor league baseball in Salt Lake City since the arrival of the Salt Lake Buzz in 1994.

Klauke is a three-time winner of the Utah Sportscaster of the Year Award in 1995, 2014 and 2016. In 2014, Ballpark Digest named him their Broadcaster of the Year.

Klauke will remain on his Weber State broadcasts, a capacity he has labored in since 2015.

Klauke, a native of the Chicago area, has called 4,034 regular season and postseason games for the Salt Lake Buzz, Stingers and Bees.

Klauke has also worked as a broadcaster for the Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Angels, Toronto Blue Jays, the University of Utah, the Utah Grizzlies and the Utah Flash.

The Bees begin the regular season March 31 by hosting the Sacramento River Cats at Smith’s Ballpark.
