Salt Lake Wins Its Second Straight Game Saturday Evening

SALT LAKE CITY-The Salt Lake Bees overcame an early 4-0 deficit Saturday night to win their second consecutive game with an 8-7 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers at Smith’s Ballpark.

After falling behind 4-0 in the 1st Inning, the 3-6 Bees received RBI doubles from Keon Wong in the 1st and 3rd Innings to make it a 4-2 game.

Taylor Trammell homered in the 5th Inning on a solo shot to make it a 5-2 Tacoma lead. The Bees then received homers from Preston Palmeiro, Wong and Anthony Bemboom to take their first lead of the game at 6-5.

Wong’s successful night continued with a 7th Inning RBI double while Bemboom’s second home run of the night increased Salt Lake’s lead to 8-5.

Trammell had an RBI single in the Rainiers’ half of the 9th to make it an 8-7 game but the Bees held on for the win.

Tacoma fell to 4-5 with the loss. The Bees and Rainiers meet again Sunday at 1:05 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.
