SALT LAKE CITY-Luis Gonzalez, on a rehab assignment from the San Francisco Giants, homered and the Sacramento River Cats downed Salt Lake 5-3 Wednesday at Smith’s Ballpark in Pacific Coast League play.
Tristan Beck posted six strikeouts in five innings of work for the River Cats to earn the win as he improved to 3-5 on the season for Sacramento.
Jose Rojas, Matt Thaiss and Magneuris Sierra each drove in a run for the Bees in the loss.
Sacramento improves to 34-46 on the season while Salt Lake falls to 37-43.
The Bees and River Cats return to action Thursday at 6:35 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.
