Reno Improves To 2-0 With 8-7 Win Over Bees

SALT LAKE CITY-Christian Lopes homered twice and the Reno Aces outlasted Salt Lake 8-7 Friday at Smith’s Ballpark as the Triple A-West season ensued for both squads.

Jo Adell hit a 1st Inning home run for the Bees to give Salt Lake a 1-0 lead.

Nevertheless, the Aces scored the next six runs, punctuated by a Josh Reddick home run to give Reno a 6-1 lead in the top of the 5th Inning.

The Bees battled back as Kean Wong had an RBI single and Brennon Lund hit a 3-run homer to make it a 6-5 game.

The Aces responded in the top of the 7th Inning as Seth Beer added an RBI double and Stuart Fairchild contributed with an RBI single to take an 8-5 lead.

Seth Frankoff earned the win on the mound for the 2-0 Aces with Ryan Buchter getting the save for Reno.

The Aces and Bees meet at Smith’s Ballpark again Saturday evening for a 6:35 pm opening pitch.
