SALT LAKE CITY-Domingo Leyba and Renae Martinez had 3 RBI apiece as the Reno Aces improved to 4-0 by downing the Salt Lake Bees 8-3 Sunday at Smith’s Ballpark.
The Aces built a 3-0 lead in the 4th as Leyba and Martinez had an RBI single and double, respectively.
After a 4th Inning solo home run from Brennon Lund put Salt Lake on the board, Reno took an 8-1 lead in the top of the 8th following RBI singles from Leyba and Christian Lopes. The Aces also had a productive 7th Inning as Seth Beer and Martinez each had RBI doubles.
The 0-4 Bees attempted a 9th Inning comeback with an RBI single from Francisco Arcia and a Lund score on a groundout from Preston Palmeiro, but Josh Green completed the win on the mound by squelching the Salt Lake momentum.
The squads return to action Monday at Smith’s Ballpark for a 6:35 pm opening pitch.
This is a Smith’s family night at the ballpark as fans can buy four tickets for $20 and hots dogs are only $1.
