Numerous Utah Collegians Named To Maxwell Award Watch List Monday

Monday morning, numerous Utah college football standouts were named to the Maxwell Award Watch List.

The representatives for this award, which is annually presented to the college football player of the year since 1937, from the Beehive State hail from BYU, the University of Utah and Utah State University.

They are as follows:

BYU

Junior quarterback Jaren Hall (completed 63.9 percent of his passes in 2021; 2,583 yards, 20 TD’s/5 INT’s)

Utah

Junior tailback Tavian Thomas (1,108 rushing yards in 2021; 5.4 yards per carry, 21 rushing TD’s)

Junior quarterback Cameron Rising (completed 63.8 percent of his passes in 2021; 2,493 yards, 20 TD’s 5 INT’s)

Utah State

Senior quarterback Logan Bonner (completed 61.3 percent of his passes in 2021; 3,628 yards, 36 TD’s, 12 INT’s).

Hall, Rising and Bonner were also named to the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award Watch List Monday. This award is annually presented to the best collegiate quarterback in the nation.
