Mountain West Conference Postpones Fall Sports

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-The Mountain West Conference announced the indefinite postponement of all scheduled fall sports and conference championships for those events per a Monday statement.

The Mountain West board of directors said they were prioritizing the physical and mental health and well-being of student-athletes in the conference as it has done throughout the course of covid-19.

Utah State University of Logan is a member of this conference.

The Aggies’ sports squads to be affected by this decision include football, men’s and women’s cross country, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball.

The Colorado Springs, Colo.-based conference will now commence exploration of the feasibility of rescheduling these sports for their various schools.

Options include playing these sports in the spring or developing other options to consider.

Athletically-related activities and training opportunities for enrolled student-athletes will also be evaluated in a manner consistent with NCAA legislation and guidance as well as state, local and campus parameters.
