CEDAR CITY, Utah-Per news released late Monday, Jonathan Oglesby has been named as the new executive director of the Utah Summer Games as confirmed by Southern Utah University.

He will officially begin his appointment June 1.

Oglesby will be responsible for managing the Utah Summer Games and overseeing their growth and development.

SUU president Mindy Benson confirmed the university is “thrilled” to have Oglesby in this role.

Oglesby has previously worked for the Utah High School Activities Association as the director for basketball, cross country, lacrosse, tennis and track and field.

Oglesby has also worked with the Big Sky Conference as senior director of communications and external operations.

He also served as the conference’s marketing and sponsorship manager.

Oglesby earned a Master of Professional Communication degree from Weber State University and a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Utah Tech University.

Oglesby also serves on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics Utah, serving as the secretary for the SOUT Executive Committee. He is also involved in various faith-based organizations.
