SALT LAKE CITY-Jose Briceno and Greg Bird homered and the Albuquerque Isotopes waxed Salt Lake 9-7 Friday at Smith’s Ballpark in Triple A West play.

The Isotopes built a 5-0 lead as Briceno had a sacrifice fly RBI and Sam Hilliard added an RBI double for Albuquerque in the 1st Inning. The Istopes had a productive 2nd Inning as well as Joe Gomez had an RBI single and Alan Trejo drove in a run on a fielder’s choice.

Rio Ruiz added an RBI single for the Isotopes in the 6th Inning as they improved to 10-22 on the season.

Dereck Rodriguez earned the win on the mound for Albuquerque.

Michael Stefanic and Scott Schebler each homered in the loss for the Bees, who fell to 13-18.

The Isotopes and Bees meet again Saturday at 6:35 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.
