CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Tuesday, Utah sophomore cornerback Clark Phillips III was named a Sporting News mid-season All-American.

Phillips has started all seven games for the Utes this season and has recorded a sack, five interceptions (two pick-sixes) and two pass breakups.

Phillips leads FBS in interceptions per game (0.7) and his five interceptions lead the nation as well.

Phillips and his Utes teammates are on their bye and return to action October 27 at Pullman, Wash. against the Washington State Cougars.
