SAN FRANCISCO-Monday, University of Utah senior center Branden Carlson was named the Pac-12 men’s basketball player of the week after leading the Utes to a sweep of Washington and Washington State.

In the wins over the Cougars and Huskies, Carlson averaged 26.5 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2.5 blocks and 1.5 steals per game.

Carlson also shot 72.4 percent from the field in the wins.

The former Bingham High School star is averaging 16.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game on the season for the Utes.

Utah (14-7, 7-3 in PAC-12 play) visits the Oregon PAC-12 schools this week, visiting Oregon State Thursday and Oregon Saturday.
