SALT LAKE CITY-Per numerous sources, the Big 12 Conference is expected to hire Brett Yormark as its new commissioner.

Yormark is currently the chief operating officer of rapper Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, an entertainment company that works with recording artists, producers, athletes, songwriters and others in entertainment.

Yormark is expected to take over for the outgoing Bob Bowlsby immediately, on July 1.

The Big 12 retained Haddonfield, N.J.-based TurnkeyZRG for its search for a new commissioner.

For many months prior to this point, TurnkeyZRG had application and job requirements for a new Big 12 commissioner on its Web site.
