Bees Win Third Straight Game Sunday

SALT LAKE CITY-Keon Wong homered and singled and the Salt Lake Bees won their third straight game by outlasting Tacoma 8-7 Sunday at Smith’s Ballpark in Triple-A West play.

The 4-6 Bees built a 7-0 lead on Wong’s home run and single, followed by a Matt Thais RBI single and a home run from Scott Schebler after three innings of play.

The Rainiers followed with a successful 6th Inning as Taylor Tremmell homered with following RBI singles from Jose Godoy (who also homered in the 5th Inning and added another RBI single in the 9th), Jantzen Witte and Jack Reinheimer.

Schebler added another home run for the Bees in the bottom of the 7th for an 8-5 lead.

In the 9th Inning, the Rainiers made things close with RBI singles from Eric Campbell and Godoy but could draw no closer than one at 8-7.

Thomas Pannone improved to 1-1 on the season with the win for the Bees. Tacoma fell to 4-6 in the loss.
