Bees Pound Tacoma Tuesday

SALT LAKE CITY-Kean Wong and Anthony Bemboom each got off to hot starts in leading the Salt Lake Bees to a 9-3 win over Tacoma Tuesday at Smith’s Ballpark.

Wong and Bemboom each posted RBI doubles for Salt Lake in the 1st Inning, leading the Bees to a 3-0 lead over the Rainiers after one.

After Jantzen Witte’s RBI grounder got Tacoma on the board in the top of the 2nd Inning, Salt Lake bounced back in their half of the 2nd with a Jo Adell RBI single and a score from Brandon Marsh with Wong being caught attempting to steal second base.

Tacoma pulled to within 5-3 in their half of the 4th Inning on a Joseph Rosa RBI single.

The Bees finished out the scoring with a 4th Inning RBI single from Brennon Lund, a home run from Jake Gatewood in the bottom of the 6th Inning  and a Preston Palmeiro RBI groundout in the 7th Inning.

Andrew Wantz earned the win on the mound for the Bees in his first appearance of the season.

Salt Lake takes a day off Wednesday before commencing a 6-game series at Las Vegas. This will be the Bees’ first road trip of the season.

Salt Lake improved to 5-7 on the season while Tacoma symmetrically slumped to 5-7.
