SALT LAKE CITY-Jack Mayfield hit a 3-run homer and Magneuris Sierra added an insurance run on a stolen base as the Salt Lake Bees outlasted Tacoma 9-8 Tuesday in Pacific Coast League play at Smith’s Ballpark.
Kenny Rosenberg earned the win on the mound for the Bees by posting five strikeouts in five innings of work. Rosenberg improved to 2-1 on the season for Salt Lake in victory.
In defeat, Justin Upton, Jarred Kelenic, Marcus Wilson and Alex Blandino each homered for the Rainiers.
With the win, Salt Lake improves to 30-25 and Tacoma slumps to 19-35.
The Bees and Rainiers meet again Wednesday at 6:35 pm at Smith’s Ballpark as the series ensues.
