SALT LAKE CITY-Matt Thaiss, Jack Mayfield and Monte Harrison each posted RBI in a productive 3rd Inning as the Salt Lake Bees downed Tacoma 5-3 Saturday at Smith’s Ballpark in Pacific Coast League play.

Cesar Valdez earned the win on the mound for the Bees by posting six strikeouts in 6 innings of work. Valdez is 7-4 on the season for the Bees.

Brian O’Keefe homered in defeat for the Rainiers.

Salt Lake improved to 43-49 on the season and Tacoma fell to 39-52 in defeat.

The Bees and Rainiers conclude their series Sunday at 6:35 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.

In honor of Pioneer Day, there will be fireworks following the game.
