Chase Haslem’s 15 points led the Red Devils in the loss. The Hawks next face No. 1 Olympus Friday at 7:00 pm at the Dee Events Center in the state semifinals.
OGDEN, Utah-Dutch DowDell netted 20 points and 8 rebounds and the No. 1 Olympus Titans stonewalled No. 8 Brighton 70-55 in the 5A state quarterfinals Wednesday at the Dee Events Center. Nash Matheson’s 27 points led the Bengals in defeat.
OGDEN, Utah-Taki Uluilakepa’s 15 points and 4 rebounds led the No. 7 Timpview Thunderbirds to a 60-55 win over the No. 2 Cottonwood Colts Wednesday at the Dee Events Center. Kirath Makhar had 14 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for the Colts. The Thunderbirds next face No. 14 Orem Friday at 8:40 pm in the state semifinals at Weber State University.
OGDEN, Utah-Anthony Felesi posted 24 points and 8 rebounds and the No. 14 Orem Tigers bested No. 6 Lehi 58-50 at the Dee Events Center Wednesday in the 5A state quarterfinals. Cooper Lewis had 31 points and 4 rebounds in the loss for the Pioneers.
Girls Quarterfinals @ Weber State University
OGDEN, Utah-Tina Njike recorded 15 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and the No. 22 Skyline Eagles upset No. 4 Timpview 58-46 in the state quarterfinals Wednesday at the Dee Events Center. Natalia Ballin led the Thunderbirds in defeat with 12 points. The Eagles next face No. 2 Bountiful Friday at 4:40 pm in the state semifinals at the Dee Events Center.
OGDEN, Utah-Taylor Harvey netted 21 points and 5 rebounds and the No. 2 Bountiful RedHawks got past No. 7 Highland 65-59 Wednesday at the Dee Events Center in the state quarterfinals. Sosefina Langi led the Rams in defeat with 19 points and 5 rebounds.
OGDEN, Utah-Brooke Pennington netted 20 points and 8 rebounds as the No. 1 Springville Red Devils edged No. 8 Timpanogos 51-49 at the Dee Events Center in the state quarterfinals Wednesday. Kate Dickinson posted 15 points and 16 rebounds in the loss for the Timberwolves. Springville next faces No. 21 Spanish Fork in the state semifinals Friday at 3:00 pm at the Dee Events Center.
