This photo shows the Utah State Capitol, Thursday, March 14, 2013, in Salt Lake City. Utah lawmakers are entering the final day of what has been a relatively quiet 45-day legislative session. By constitutional rule the Legislature must end its session Thursday, which often means the stroke of midnight. Lawmakers are wrapping up negotiations on a number of bills, including proposals to change the state's liquor and gun laws, and putting the finishing touches on a roughly $13 billion state budget. Utah Rep. Matthew Gwynn Will Not Seek Fourth Term

(Farr West, UT) — State Representative Matthew Gwynn announces he will not run for a fourth term in the Utah House. The republican, who serves Farr West, says he is choosing to focus on his family as his daughter continues recovering from a serious accident. Gwynn plans to serve through the 2026 General Session, which runs through March 9th. Former Congressman Rob Bishop, who served nine terms in the U.S. House until 2021, is reportedly considering a run for Gwynn’s seat.
