Utah Domestic Violence Shelter To Open Early Because of COVID-19

LOGAN, Utah-The Dell Loy Hansen Family Foundation, with contributions from the help of the RSL Foundation, are opening an emergency domestic violence shelter earlier than planned because of the COVID-19 outbreak, per a release.

In January, the Dell Loy Foundation purchased a 4-plex in Logan for victims of domestic violence in Utah.

The foundation will give the building to CAPSA, the Centralized Application Service For Physician Assistants, a non-profit domestic violence, sexual assault and rape recovery center.

CAPSA offers a 24-hour support phone line, an emergency shelter, casework, rape exam advocacy, legal advocacy, prevention education, transitional housing and clinical therapy.

All of the organization’s services are free and confidential.

The building required numerous repairs for it to be safety and habitable. The RSL Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Real Salt Lake and the Utah Royals, each donated $60,000 to make the repairs.
