The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Reveals Temple News

SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released information for temples to be constructed at Montpelier, Idaho and Maceió, Brazil.

The Montpelier Idaho Temple will have a groundbreaking ceremony Saturday June 17 presided over by Elder Ryan K. Olson, a General Authority Seventy of the Church.

Attendance at this event will be by invitation only.

A live broadcast of the event will be available for more than 15,000 Latter-day Saints within the proposed temple district.

Other Idaho temples include

in operation: Boise, Idaho Falls, Meridian, Pocatello, Rexburg, Twin Falls

Under construction/announced: Burley, Teton River

Plans for the Maceió Brazil Temple call for a one-story temple consisting of approximately 19,000 square feet. This temple will be the 18th Brazilian temple for the Salt Lake City-based faith upon completion.

Dedicated temples in Brazil are currently located in Belém, Campinas, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Manaus, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

Brazilian temples are under construction at Brasília and Salvador. Others have been announced for Belo Horizonte, Londrina, Ribeirão Prêto, Santos,  São Paulo East and Vitória.
