SALT LAKE CITY-Last month, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints delivered 575 specialized wheelchairs and 189 walkers and crutches to Guatemala per reports released Tuesday.

These essentials for the infirm were delivered to Fundabien Guatemala of Guatemala City by the Salt Lake City-based faith January 27.

During the last four years, the Church has collaborated with several Central American organizations to assist more than 2,000 wheelchair users.

From January 23-26, volunteers, including certified physiotherapists and a technician, showed 30 Fundabiem Guatemala professionals how to assist patients adapting to their model of wheelchair.
