YORBA LINDA, Calif.-Thursday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced a site for its new temple to be constructed at Yorba Linda, Calif.
This temple was first announced in April 2020 by Church President Russell M. Nelson.
It will be built on a 5.4-acre site located at the intersection of Bastanchury Road and Osmond Street.
Plans are calling for a single-story temple consisting of approximately 30,000 square feet.
The Yorba Linda California Temple will be the ninth in California upon its dedication.
Other California temples are located in Fresno (2000), Los Angeles (1956), Newport Beach (2005), Oakland (1964; rededicated in 2019), Redlands (2003), Sacramento (2006) and San Diego (1993).
The Feather River California Temple is currently under construction at Yuba City, Calif.
More than 21,000 Latter-day Saints live in what will be the Yorba Linda Temple District.
