SALT LAKE CITY-Per a statement from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a full-time missionary has died during her service.

Late Thursday, Church spokesman Daniel Woodruff confirmed Sister Katherine Pindar of Mesa, Ariz. has passed away at the age of 19.

Sister Pindar was serving in the Texas Houston East Mission and passed away in her sleep following a brief illness.

As of yet, the Salt Lake City-based faith does not know the exact cause of the death. Woodruff confirmed  the statement that the Church is cognizant of her family and loved ones.

The statement concludes with the faith expressing hopes that her family will feel “comfort and peace” at this time.
