SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the advancement of various temples under its reopening policy.
The Salt Lake City-based faith confirmed its temples at Kansas City, Missouri, London, England and Preston, England advance to Phase 3-effective May 10. Phase 3 is the most progress any temples have made worldwide. There are currently 29 temples at Phase 3 worldwide. Phase 3 consists of being open for ordinances for both the living and the dead with restrictions.
Temples at Curtiba, Brazil and Lisbon, Portugal will reopen to Phase 2-effective May 3.
Phase 2 consists of being open for all living ordinances only with restrictions.
The Church also clarified the situation with the Boston Massachusetts Temple.
The temple is undergoing scheduled maintenance and will officially reopen to Phase 2 June 1. It had been reported last Monday that the temple would reopen to Phase 2 April 26.
As of April 26, the following temples have advanced to Phase 2-B worldwide. Phase 2-B consists of being open for all living ordinances and baptisms for deceased individuals with restrictions.
