Temple Square Opens Incrementally This Summer

SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced an incremental reopening of Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City, the de facto headquarters of the faith.

The Conference Center will open Monday June 14. The reopening will commence with tours from 11:00 am-5:00 pm.

This will consist of both guided and self-guided tours.

Tuesday July 6, the Assembly Hall and Tabernacle will open to the public with limited hours (11:00 am-5:00 pm). Organ concerts, rehearsals and other concerts will continue to be paused. The Church History Library’s reading room will be open by appointment July 6. A limited number of appointments will be available from 10:00 am-3:00 pm Monday-Friday. The library will also resume presentations for groups of 25 or fewer.

Monday August 2, the Beehive House and Church History Museum will reopen. The Beehive House will reopen from 10:00 am-6:00 pm Monday-Saturday. The Church History Museum and store will be open from 9:00 am-9:00 pm Monday-Thursday and 10:00 am-6:00 pm Friday and Saturday.

The Joseph Smith Memorial Building, the Relief Society Building and the Lion House openings will be confirmed at a future date.

Face masks are recommended for individuals who are not fully vaccinated.
