SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints confirmed the Tegucigalpa Honduras Temple will advance to Phase 2 of reopening Monday December 21.

This is the only temple in the world to advance to another level of reopening.

Phase 2 of the Salt Lake City-based faith’s temple reopening procedures consists of being open for all living ordinances only with restrictions.

This temple was dedicated March 17, 2013 by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, then of The First Presidency.

Elder Uchtdorf is currently a member of The Quorum of Twelve Apostles of the Church.

This temple currently serves Latter-day Saints in Honduras and Nicaragua.
